The project examines the individual, institutional and regional factors that influence the whereabouts of international students in Germany after graduation. To this end, existing data sets from the German Center for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) will be analyzed. In addition, the situational conditions for the individual consideration of staying in Germany will be examined with the help of a survey experiment, which will be carried out as part of a focus survey among international students in the final phase of their studies.
