Doctorates generate new knowledge for one's own discipline and thus create a basis for the further development of one's own (professional) practice. Doctorates also promote one's own biographical development; they offer an exceptional opportunity for theoretical and empirical deepening in certain subject and interest-related topics and thus for taking up a self-assured and constantly self-assured position in the academic world.
It is particularly important to us to provide our UAS graduates with the best possible support for their doctoral studies and to advise them along the way. To this end, we offer various information, advice and exchange opportunities.
Find out early on about the path to a doctorate at our annual dies academicus event "Doctoral thesis after graduating from a university of applied sciences - is it possible?" and "Materials for doctorates after graduating from a university of applied sciences in social work".
You will also find the latest information in the monthly doctoral mailing for UAS graduates and colleagues from the universities of applied sciences. You can register for the newsletter at https://www.listserv.dfn.de/sympa/review/promotionsrundmail_fh.
At regular intervals, doctoral students from our Faculty of Social Sciences discuss their current research projects in a doctoral colloquium. This is self-organized and offers a platform for discussion and critical discourse with fellow students - from the exposé, joint analysis of collected data and text criticism to practising the defence. Would you like to contact the doctoral colloquium? Then write an e-mail to monique.ritter(at)hszg.de. You are very welcome!
