Equal Opportunities Officer of the Faculty

We understand equal opportunities work as a broad concept and as a task that also takes into account the concerns of people with (their own) experience of migration, with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses and at different stages of life, and thus addresses potential experiences of discrimination.

The legal basis for our work is formed in particular by the German Basic Law (Article 3), the General Equal Treatment Act, and, at state level, the Saxon Higher Education Act (Section 56) and the Saxon Act on the Advancement of Women.

Our tasks include

  • Submitting proposals and statements on all matters relating to gender equality at the Faculty of Social Sciences, in particular in appointment and application procedures
  • Advising and supporting faculty members in all gender equality-related matters (in particular on subtle and overt forms of discriminatory behavior, sexualized violence, inferior structures and the compatibility of family and studies or work)
  • Advising and supporting the faculty management on equality issues
  • Committee work

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
