Dr. Monique Ritter conducts research with an intersectional perspective on topics such as racism, East Germany as a transformation society and gender- and diversity-sensitive higher education development. She is currently a substitute professor for gender, diversity and social inequality in social work at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.

In January 2024, her book "Rassismus und Altenpflege in Ostdeutschland. Zum 'Unbehagen' in der beruflichen Zusammenarbeit mit Migrant*innen" was published by Transcript-Verlag.
